Stacey Dash: “We Shouldn’t Have A Black History Month”

Wait, huh? Rewind. Stacey Dash said what?

In response to Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee boycotting the Oscars due to it’s lack of diversity for the second year in a row, Stacey Dash appeared on ‘Fox and Friends‘ to discuss her perspective.

The actress and political commentator stated today on Outnumbered Fox News,

“Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET—and the NAACP Image Awards  where you’re only awarded if you’re black, if it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

The former ‘House Arrest‘ actress has been receiving major backlash because of her statement, particularly from American rapper, Bun-B, aka Bernard Freeman. Freeman took to his Instagram to post this picture and caption in response to Stacey’s comments saying,

“For everyone that didn’t know that looks don’t mean a goddamn thing if the inside of you is ugly as fuck here’s your proof. Her black skin drives her crazy. And as hard as she tries to separate herself from the black community, she doesn’t even realize her token role as a pawn in their game. You’re black. Hating yourself and us won’t make them love you. The best you’ll ever here is “You’re not like the rest of them” and if that works for you then cool. #TheBiggestCoonInTheRoom “

Oscars So White: Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Boycott Oscars

Days after the Oscar nominations were announced, Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee had a message for the Academy.

On MLK day, Smith and Lee took to social media to share their opinions regarding the Oscar nominations for the second year in a row being  all white. Smith posted a video on Facebook expressing her highest respects to the Academy, however, telling her fans that she would not be supporting the award show this year.

She also took to her Twitter and Facebook and made this statement,

“At the Oscars…people of color are always welcomed to give out awards…even entertain, but we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments. Should people of color refrain from participating all together? People can only treat us in the way in which we allow.

With much respect in the midst of deep disappointment,

J.”

Standing by Jada’s decision, Spike Lee explained his opinions surrounding the “#OscarsSoWhite trend by posting the below picture and caption on Instagram.
